On 15 August, I and my girlfriend had to take a flight from Lisbon to Rome and then another from Rome to Falconara. The first with the Tap, the second with Alitalia. Unfortunately, the Lisbon-Rome flight delayed two hours and a half (a long delay as the whole question!), Making us miss the Fiumicino airport. From there began a series of misfortunes, which made us come home to 17 of August 16 rather than in the late evening of August 15 as planned.
Here is a brief summary of expenses, broken trains, planes and missed repayments taken for a ride.
- 100 € for a flight from Rome to Ancona, we never took. Unfortunately, here there lies no refund because the company that was that the Portuguese had been slow.
- 28 € for the train Fiumicino-Roma Termini (available only with machines that only accept payments by credit card, no cash and ticket obviously all closed at nine o'clock, at the airport in the Italian capital. C ' was caused by people who go without a ticket, but that he wanted to pay the ticket!).
- 75 € for the night in a hotel near the Termini railway station.
- 85 € for the train Roma-Falconara, to be taken the following morning.
Unexpected: The train breaks at Spoleto. We lose three quarters of an hour and is put. Soon after, in Foligno will be seeking the same fault and we must keep still another hour, waiting to be placed on another train, which runs an hour later and is fully strategic. Incidentally, the first was a Eurostar, the new one a regional level.
Once in Falconara, ask for a refund information, given the extra costs of € 288 (excluding eating and drinking, and would not even be fair to exclude them too, but I want to be good) for reasons not depended on us. Answer: "Trenitalia will reimburse a maximum of 50% in twenty days, because the computer takes 20 days to record the delay."
is to ask what kind of computer. But why only 50% (maximum!)? Trenitalia evidently was satisfied half of the service. And not only that the reimbursement is not cash, of course, but be spent with another ticket to be used within six months (and if not I'll need to take other trains?).
A typical case of how it works in Italy, nothing special. It is the practice. And thank you for Trenitalia (what is the alternative?), Who apologizes for the inconvenience ...
Instead of using public money for the blue car, fix a few train no, eh?
